We only use pure ingredients for the production of our naturally brewed soy sauce. Kikkoman soy sauce has been manufactured for over 300 years according to a traditional Japanese recipe in a natural brewing process. It is made from the raw materials of soybeans, wheat, water and salt. These four pure ingredients satisfy the very highest quality standards. Our soy sauce is produced in the Netherlands and it contains no genetically-modified organisms whatsoever.

Kikkoman naturally brewed soy sauce is made exclusively from four pure ingredients. Kikkoman never uses flavour enhancers, preservatives or colourings in the production of its naturally brewed sauces.
> Natural brewing process
Kikkoman naturally brewed soy sauce is manufactured according to a complex, 300 year old, traditional recipe in a natural brewing process that takes around 6 months to complete. No chemicals are added to speed up the brewing process and it does not produce any unwanted by-products whatsoever.

In October 1997, we opened the first European Kikkoman production facility in Hoogezand-Sappemeer, the Netherlands, to meet increasing demand for soy sauce in Europe. This production facility manufactures Kikkoman sauces for the entire European market. It enables us to guarantee the maximum freshness of our products.

In April 1998, Kikkoman Foods Europe B. V. obtained certification pursuant to the guidelines of the Central Committee of Experts HACCP. In August 2002, it was certified in accordance with DIN ISO 14001 (environmental management system).
