Shopping tips

Many supermarkets have enticing displays of exotic fruits and vegetables from all over the world. When you buy fruit and vegetables, always choose seasonal products from your region because they contain the most vitamins when they are "in season". They will also be freshest because the distance from the grower to the supermarket is shortest. The healthiest meals are planned according to a seasonal calendar. If you don't know when the different vegetables are in season, take a look at Kikkoman's seasonal calendar. It's also useful to know that field-grown vegetables are especially rich in vitamins and nutrients. They are also less polluted than greenhouse products as a rule. And, obviously, organic fruit and vegetables are best of all.
